HOW THE CHALLENGE WORKS — ORIENTEERING AS THE UNIFYING THREAD!

The Lac des Confins Challenge is built around a life-size orienteering race through the Aravis massif. Teams, armed with their map and compass, set off in pursuit of activity stands scattered across the Lac des Confins natural site — each stand corresponding to a different challenge to complete in order to accumulate as many points as possible!

The richness of the challenge lies in the diversity of the activities encountered along the route — some call on skill, others on strategy, others still on conviviality and fair play. A lively, rhythmic progression through a grandiose natural setting, where every team chooses its own itinerary and builds its own adventure.

THE CHALLENGES — VARIED STANDS THROUGHOUT THE COURSE!

Challenge 1 — Giant Skis

The unmissable classic! Oversized giant skis on which the entire team must coordinate to move forward together — without falling! Timing, synchronisation, communication and guaranteed laughter. This challenge consistently generates the most laughter and the most spontaneous cohesion of the entire day — impossible to succeed without perfect coordination and genuine team spirit!

Challenge 2 — Savoyard Pétanque

A classic revisited in the alpine setting of the Aravis! Teams go head-to-head on an improvised pétanque court, following the Savoyard rules — precision, concentration and a touch of cunning are your best weapons. The most convivial stand on the course, where quiet strategists often take their revenge on the most athletic participants!

Challenge 3 — Archery

Concentration, breath control and precision — archery is the most noble challenge of the Lac des Confins experience. In the sumptuous setting of the Lac des Confins, our facilitators introduce every participant to the basics of archery. The target is set, the arrows are ready — but in this landscape and under the watchful eyes of teammates, the pressure takes on a whole new dimension!

Challenge 4 — Disc Golf

Discover or rediscover the joys of disc golf in the heart of the alpine wilderness! Using their discs, participants must reach the targets scattered across the natural Confins course in as few throws as possible. Skill, trajectory control and reading of the terrain — a challenge as technical as it is fun, that consistently surprises with its difficulty and deep conviviality.

How do you get to the Lac des Confins from La Clusaz?

How does the orienteering race work?
Each team receives a map of the Lac des Confins site showing the locations of the different challenge stands. Teams freely choose their own itinerary to reach as many stands as possible within the allotted time. Every completed challenge earns points — route strategy is just as important as performance at each stand!

Are the challenges accessible to complete beginners?
Yes! Archery, disc golf, Savoyard pétanque and giant skis are all facilitated by Takamaka's guides who explain the basics to every team before the challenge begins. No prior experience is required at any of the stands.

How long does the Lac des Confins Challenge last?
