Description
The sledge descent takes place after dark from the Crêt du Merle — approximately 6 km down to the centre of La Clusaz village, at the Bossonnet. Access to the summit is by gondola or shuttle depending on conditions. Helmet, head torch and reflective vest provided. The parêt is the authentic Savoyard sledge — a wooden board on snow, a rustic and fun descent deeply rooted in the culture of the Aravis. Two sliding experiences that Takamaka La Clusaz offers depending on the season, conditions and your preferences.

Sledge descents take place after dark, once the ski area has closed. Access to the Crêt du Merle is by gondola or shuttle depending on evening conditions. Warm, waterproof clothing and snow-appropriate footwear are essential. Both activities can be preceded or followed by a Savoyard aperitif or a meal in a typical village restaurant — Takamaka organises the full programme on request.

FAQ
What is the difference between the sledge and the parêt?
The sledge is a modern sliding device with a seat and steering — fast, stable and controllable. The parêt is a simple Savoyard wooden board with no mechanism — more rustic, more fun and deeply rooted in the local culture of the Aravis. Two complementary experiences, two different atmospheres.
Is the activity supervised?
Yes. Takamaka guides supervise every session from the first to the last descent. A technical briefing is delivered before every departure and safety equipment is provided for the sledge — helmet, head torch and reflective vest.
Do I need sliding experience?
Not at all. Both activities are accessible without prior experience. The technical briefing delivered by our guides allows everyone to hit the slope with confidence from the very first descent.
